Consumer Price Survey


The numbers shout what the dealers’ coupons and marketing tactics cannot hide.  We recently called the nearest Saab and Volvo dealers requesting prices on twenty-eight straightforward repairs and services.  Dealers’ prices were between 39% and 72% more on this range of jobs.  Scandinavian’s prices are our everyday prices including everything: parts, labor, tax and shop supplies.


Scandinavian’s customers bank serious money and their savings do not end here.  Consumers suspect, and industry insiders know that it is routine for dealerships’ service writers to be schooled, coached, and heavily compensated to up-sell unnecessary repairs.  Once your car is in their service department, the balance of power shifts away from the consumer, to the dealer.  Then their service writers are expected and rewarded to exploit the advantage and sell, sell, sell.  We believe that it is unfair and dishonest to put anyone’s interest ahead of customers who depend upon our expertise and integrity.  At Scandinavian, the up-sell, low-ball quotes, and other slimy tactics are out of the question.


Significant savings are nothing new at Scandinavian.  Our last survey published in 2000 revealed that the four nearest dealers charged between 42% and 63% more than us on a variety of thirty-two jobs.  Why not experience the care and savings we offer our customers instead of the hardhearted treatment found at the dealership?
